Situated 35 miles northwest of Cape Reinga, and approximately 120 nautical miles from the Bay of Islands, the Three Kings Islands are the base for fishing the 'Kings' and 'Middlesex' banks which offer some of the most prolific big game fishing the world has to offer - Stripped Marlin ranging from 75kg - 180kg (150-400lbs) as well as Blue Marlin, Black Marlin, Broadbill Swordfish, Mako Sharks and an abundance of large (15-50kg) Yellowtail Kingfish. A trip to the Three Kings Islands is the ultimate game fishing experience. Not for the feint hearted, the Three Kings is an isolated group of eleven uninhabited islands and offers limited shelter. They are a wild-life reserve and it is not permissible to go ashore there. Trips to the Three Kings require a minimum 4 day charter and are dependent on weather conditions at the time, but the fishing is absolutely fantastic and overnighting at "The Kings" is an experience never to be forgotten. "Levante" carries full NZ Maritime Safety Authority survey for the Three Kings Islands as well as the rest of the New Zealand coast. |
